Luchando Pa El Cultural Afro Latino Forum at B.R.I.C
B.R.I.C cultural arts center in Brooklyn put together a night of conversations and community for their “Afro-Latino” forum. The language variations of the Hispanic dialect brought conversations and expert opinions from non profit organizational groups, lawyers, elected officials and other group leaders in support of those who descend from the African diaspora.
Current legislation sponsored by Senator Zellnor Myrie (Sen. Res 1992) promulgates the exposure of Afro-Latino achievements in New York, through the diaspora during the 19th century and naming May "Fiesta De La Etina Negra." (Black Heritage Month) Proposed legislation supports the upcoming street co-naming of “Panama Way” on Classon Ave, changing the lens of Afro-Latinos in America to promote change within their home country.
